WHY THIS SUBJECT IS IMPORTANT
All businesses need enterprising employees to drive their organisations forward, to have ideas and initiatives to instigate growth, and to ensure that businesses survive in this fast-changing world. Enterprise is a key government focus and is set to form an important part of the UK’s global economic status, both now and in the future. Enterprise skills provide a fantastic progression pathway into a number of roles in an organisation and are transferable into all businesses.
WHAT WILL I STUDY?
Component 1: Exploring Enterprises
- Examine how and why enterprises and entrepreneurs are successful
- Understand customer needs and competitor behaviour through market research
- Understand how the outcomes of situational analyses may affect enterprises
Component 2:Planning and Presenting a Micro – Enterprise Idea
- Produce a plan for a micro - enterprise idea
- Present a plan for the micro - enterprise idea to meet specific requirements
- Review the presentation of the micro - enterprise idea to meet specific requirements
Component 3:Marketing and Finance for Enterprise
- Marketing activities
- Financial documents and statements
- Financial planning and forecasting
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
There are 2 internally assessed units
- Component 1: Exploring Enterprises
- Component 2: Planning and Presenting a Micro – Enterprise Idea
External assessment
- Component 3: Marketing & Finance for Enterprise
A good level of Maths and English is required to access the course.
All components must be completed to gain a full qualification.
