School Food Showdown

Year 7’s and 8’s had a really exciting edition to their timetable on Tuesday 12th July as we welcomed ‘The School Food Showdown’ to Westfield. Two teams, captained by Mr Snowball and Mrs Partington, battled it out in a 15 minute, head to head cookery challenge to see who could create the healthiest meal out of the ingredients available to them.

There was plenty of audience participation and as the crowd cheered and showed support for their chosen teams, the noise in the Lower School Theatre could be likened to that of an international football match! When the time ran out, both teams presented their dishes . The Red Chilli’s had created a lovely Vegetable Chilli with the Green Peas opting for a delicious Stir Fry. Volunteers sampled the food and then the whole hall cast their votes to determine the victors with the Green Peas being crowned winners. Well done!
