Colour Run

Colour Run Press Release:

With real enthusiasm and support from all members of staff it was decided at the end of 2019 that Westfield Academy would hold its first ever sponsored Colour Run! Everyone was in agreement that St Margaret’s Hospice was a very worthy cause to support at this event, with a proportion of the money raised going to the House System to use towards future activities for the students.

After the students were informed there was an instant buzz of anticipation around the school.  Students were bringing in sponsorship money and the House Team were shocked at the amazing amount of money being raised.  The pressure was on for the Heads of Houses to arrange the best Colour Run possible!  Having ordered over 30kg of powder paint, paint cannons, inflatables, sunglasses, white t-shirts and plenty of snacks, the course was set up on the Lower School Field, with an obstacle course and four separate paint stations (kindly supervised by our amazing members of staff).

The big day arrived, and luckily brought glorious sunshine! Over 400 extremely excited students were at the start line ready to run, all armed with their bags of powder paint.  The countdown started and with a ‘bang’ the powder cannons went off and the students ran through a barrage of colour, smiles on everyone’s faces, as well as a splattering of powder paint. Their enjoyment was then captured in the “Selfie Station” and even the staff joined in!

The event was an outstanding success and memories were made for both students and staff.
